The situation we usually walk into
Linear assets and generation sites share a problem: large areas of vegetation that must be kept down for access, compliance and fire risk, spread across ground that is often uneven, steep or awkward to get plant onto. Chemical programmes are increasingly unpopular with neighbours and landowners, and on solar sites there is the added constraint of working around infrastructure without damaging it.
What we do about it
Mechanical vegetation control across easements, corridors and generation sites. Remote-controlled machines handle the batters, bunds and uneven ground; commercial mowing systems cover the open area efficiently. No chemical programme, so no drift, no residue and no conversation with adjoining landowners about spraying.
Typical jobs
- Transmission and distribution easement clearing
- Solar farm inter-row and perimeter vegetation management
- Access track and compound vegetation control
- Firebreak maintenance around assets and substations
- Bund and batter mowing on generation and storage sites

Weeds that come with this territory
- GorseThe big one. Dense, spiny, seeds for decades, and it takes hold on exactly the slopes a tractor cannot work.
- Pampas grassHuge clumps, prolific windborne seed, and a serious fire load. Common on banks, roadsides and coastal margins.
- KikuyuNot scrub, but it gets away from people just as badly. Rank kikuyu on a bank defeats most mowers.
