The situation we usually walk into
Most lifestyle blocks have a part that quietly stopped being used. It is normally the steep bit at the back, or the gully, or the boundary behind the shed. It got a season ahead, then a year, and now there is no way in without a scrub bar and a bad afternoon. Meanwhile you are paying rates on land you cannot walk onto, and the gorse or blackberry in there is reseeding the rest of the property.
What we do about it
We clear it back to ground level with remote-controlled machines and leave the whole lot as a mulch layer on site. No burning, no green waste to get rid of, no chemicals. Because the machines are remote-controlled and rated to 55 degrees, the fact that it is steep is not the obstacle it has been. Most blocks are a one-day job.
