What it involves
Clearing back the vegetation encroaching on a driveway or access route to restore vehicle width, height clearance and sight lines at the road.
Why it has not been done
An overgrown drive is a practical problem before it is a cosmetic one: delivery vehicles will not come up, emergency access is compromised, and the sight line where it meets the road becomes genuinely dangerous. It is usually steep-sided as well, because that is why it was left.
How we do it
We mulch the encroaching growth back off the formed width, including the banks on either side at up to 55 degrees. The machines themselves work from 1.4m entry width, so a drive that is currently too tight for a truck is not too tight for us to start.
