What it involves
Mulching rank, seeded-out or unpalatable pasture back to an even height so it comes away cleanly and stock will graze it again.
Why it has not been done
Topping the flat is easy. The reason it does not get done is the faces and terraces where a tractor and topper are not safe, so those parts get skipped year after year and go progressively ranker until they are more scrub than pasture.
How we do it
Remote-controlled mulchers handle rank growth on slopes up to 55 degrees, with the operator off the face. Adjustable cutting heights and anti-scalping keep the finish even across uneven ground, so you do not get the rows, clumps and scalped crowns a ride-on leaves behind.
