Who we are

GRazer NZ is owned and operated by Dan and Jo Warrington.

Dan is Director of Sales and Operations and your usual point of contact for projects, while Jo is Director of Business Relations.

We specialise in high performance vegetation management across the North Island, with the machinery and capability to work in steep, rough and hard to access terrain.

From large scale mowing, mechanical mulching, slope mowing and pest plant control to land clearing and reclaiming overgrown areas, we can often complete the whole job with one specialised machine. This reduces unnecessary mobilisation, site traffic and ground disturbance while delivering an efficient result.

We take care of the land we work on, with a strong focus on biosecurity, responsible machinery practices and leaving sites clean and well managed.

Our goal is simple, control vegetation, reclaim usable land and maintain it for the long term while improving access, land usability and responsible land care management.

We do more with our machines.

GRazer’s remote controlled machinery combines the productivity of conventional mowing and mulching equipment with the ability to safely work where access, terrain or operator safety would otherwise become a limitation.

Our 1.4 metre access option, Connie, is light on the ground and suited to slope mowing, mulching and vegetation management where access and ground conditions matter. For heavier vegetation and demanding terrain, our heavy duty FAE forest mulcher delivers the power and capacity to take on larger material and reclaim difficult areas.

Remote control keeps the operator safely away from the machine while allowing us to work on slopes up to 55 degrees, steep batters, gullies and difficult terrain.

Our mulching equipment can process material from 200 to 300mm, giving us the capacity to tackle vegetation that would often require several stages or different machines.

The advantage is simple: conventional capability, with more reach, more versatility and more places we can work. In many cases, one GRazer machine can do the work that would otherwise require multiple machines or operations, reducing mobilisation, site traffic and ground disturbance.

The FAE (RCU 55) heavy-duty remote-controlled mulcher on site
  • Purpose-built equipment

Remote-controlled machines designed for steep, difficult-access terrain. Slopes up to 55 degrees with nobody standing on the face, and material capacity from 200mm to 300mm.

  • Eco-friendly method

No chemicals and no burning. Everything is mulched in place and stays on site, breaking down into the soil rather than being trucked away or sent up in smoke.

  • Professional and reliable

Fully insured, experienced operators, documented health and safety systems, and recorded biosecurity cleaning between every site.

  • Local experts

Based in the Bay of Plenty since 2013, working across the wider North Island on rural, lifestyle, commercial and council land.

Certified for the work that requires it

We hold SHE Pre-Qual, Tōtika and IMPAC Prequal certification, carry full insurance and liability coverage, and provide detailed biosecurity and site-cleaning records. Holding all three prequalifications together is unusual in this category, and it is what lets us work council, civil, forestry and industrial sites rather than only private land.

Before any work begins we assess site conditions, identify risks and put practical controls in place. Our operators are experienced across steep terrain, difficult access and active operational environments where the public or other contractors are present.

What people say

  • The team at Grazer provides the best service I have experienced over 16 years of bank maintenance with long reach mowers, 4-wheel-drive movers, and now Grazer. They provide a fast and high quality result, prompt response to requests for change in service schedule, and great customer care.

    Andrew · Tauranga

  • Grazer sorted out our very steep, heavily overgrown blackberry bank. We were sceptical, but once the team got started it was clear that Grazer was the best tool for the job. The team's manner and prompt timing were key to a smooth process. We highly recommend the Grazer for those hard to reach places.

    Dan · Whakamarama, Tauranga

  • Dan did an amazing job at our property. He was professional and communication was excellent. We will certainly have him and his team back again.

    Wicked Machine Works

  • Dan has been excellent throughout the project, his communications and planning were forthcoming; the mulching work done is fantastic. Good care was taken for the land and surrounds. Highly recommended.
