The job

Bush Track Clearing and Track Making

Overgrown tracks reopened, and new ones cut, without a hand crew.

What it involves

Cutting a clear line through bush, ferns and regrowth to open a walkable, rideable or driveable track, whether reopening an old one that has closed over or making a new one.

Why it has not been done

Bush tracks close over faster than anyone expects. Ferns, blackberry and regrowth reclaim a line in a season or two, and clearing it back by hand is slow, prickly work that never quite gets to the top of the list. So the track disappears and the access with it.

How we do it

The remote-controlled mulcher works through the ferns, scrub and light regrowth and processes it into a mulch layer underfoot, leaving a clean track surface. It fits through gaps from 1.4m and handles the wet, soft ground and side-slopes that bush tracks usually run across.
