  • Local authority contractor prequalification
  • SHE Pre-Qual - safety, health and environment prequalification
  • IMPAC Prequal - identifying safe contractors

The situation we usually walk into

Council vegetation work has two constraints that rule most contractors out. The first is prequalification: if you are not in the systems, you are not on the list. The second is that the sites that actually need doing are the ones nobody can safely mow, the stormwater reserve batter, the roadside face, the bank behind the walking track. They get deferred year after year because putting an operator on a 40 degree batter next to a live road is not defensible.

What we do about it

Remote-controlled machines with the operator off the slope and out of the traffic envelope, prequalified through SHE Pre-Qual, Tōtika and IMPAC, and set up for the batters, reserves and corridors that conventional plant cannot take. We work as principal contractor or as a subcontractor to your civil contractor, whichever suits the procurement.

Typical jobs

  • Stormwater reserve and detention basin batter mowing
  • Roadside bank and berm vegetation control
  • Walking track, cycleway and esplanade margin clearing
  • Pest plant control programmes on council land
  • Firebreak creation around settlements and reserves
