Walking Track and Cycleway Vegetation Clearing

Width and sight lines restored on public tracks, without spraying.

Steep track-side undergrowth being cleared

What it involves

Clearing the margins and side slopes along a walking track, cycleway or esplanade route so it keeps its formed width, its sight lines and its drainage.

Why it has not been done

Tracks close in from the edges, and the side slopes are usually steeper than the track itself. Sight lines matter on shared paths, and vegetation encroachment is a common source of complaints and incident reports. Spraying is unpopular on public recreation land, for good reason.

How we do it

Mechanical clearing only, no chemicals. Remote-controlled machines work the side slopes at up to 55 degrees and get into margins from as little as 1.4m width. Material is mulched in place, so nothing has to be barrowed or carted out along the track.
