The situation we usually walk into

Every farm with hill country has ground that has gone out of production without a decision ever being made about it. The face was too steep for the tractor, spraying it did not give the ground back, and it has been carrying gorse for a decade. It is still in your rates and your stocking calculations but it is not feeding anything, and it is the seed source reinfesting everything below it.

What we do about it

We mulch it back to ground level and leave the material on site as mulch, so there is nothing to burn and nothing to cart. Grazing on the regrowth is the cheapest maintenance there is, and once the face is open you can actually use it. We work in with your operation, you do not need to be there, and clear access instructions are usually all we need.

Typical jobs

  • Reclaiming retired gorse and scrub faces back into grazing
  • Fence line clearing so boundaries can be maintained and re-fenced
  • Race and access track clearing
  • Paddock topping where growth has got away
  • Clearing around dams, troughs and stock water infrastructure
