What information do you need to provide a quote?
In most cases an initial estimate can be provided using Google Maps, photos and the property address. The more information you can provide about the site, vegetation type, access and the outcome you are looking to achieve, the more accurate the estimate will be. A site visit may be recommended for larger or more complex projects.
The short list: the property address, photos of the vegetation, photos of the access route and entrance, roughly what area you want done, and what you want the land to be like afterwards. That is usually enough for a realistic number.
The access photos are the ones people forget and the ones that matter most. Show the gateway, the width, the route from the road to the work area, and anything on that route that might be a constraint: a culvert, a bridge, overhead wires, soft ground.
On vegetation photos, get close enough that stem thickness is visible. A canopy shot from thirty metres away shows area but not whether the gorse is three years old or fifteen, and that difference changes the job substantially.
Saying what the outcome should be is the other half. "Cleared" can mean knocked down so the block can be assessed, or a fine finish ready for planting. They are different jobs.
For larger, more complex or high-value projects, a site visit may be recommended to confirm scope and requirements before work commences.
