How do you price your work?

The Google Maps and photos approach means you can get a realistic initial number without waiting for someone to drive out, which on a rural property can otherwise take a week. Aerial imagery shows the area, the shape, the access route and often the vegetation itself; your photos fill in what the imagery cannot show, particularly stem thickness and ground conditions.

Size alone is a poor predictor. Two blocks of the same area can differ by several times depending on slope, how woody the growth is, and whether a machine can get to the work. Access in particular is the factor most often left out of an enquiry and most likely to change the answer.

For larger, more complex or high-value projects, a site visit may be recommended to confirm scope, discuss requirements and ensure accurate pricing before work commences. That is about avoiding surprises in both directions.

Some things only become visible once clearing starts: old fencing, rubbish, stumps, rock, springs. Anything you already know about is worth mentioning up front.
