How quickly can you mow large areas?
GRazer's high-capacity mowing systems typically cover 2 to 3 acres a day, depending on vegetation density, height, slope and underfoot terrain. Actual productivity varies with site conditions, but the specialist equipment handles ground that traditional mowing methods cannot.
Eight acres an hour is the figure for good conditions: open ground, reasonable access, growth that has not got badly away, and a shape that lets the machine run without constant repositioning.
The things that pull it down are all predictable. Obstacles (trees, posts, culverts, markers) mean more turns and slower passes. Narrow or awkward shapes cost more in repositioning than in cutting. Steep ground is slower than flat. And growth that has been left for two seasons takes longer than growth on a regular cycle.
For estimating purposes on a large site, that headline rate is the right starting point and then gets adjusted for the actual conditions. It is why photos and an address produce a much better number than area alone.
The comparison that usually matters is against traditional mowing on the same ground, or against the ground simply not being mown at all, which is the real status quo for most steep batters and reserves.
