How is land clearing different from mulching or mowing?
Land clearing focuses on reclaiming overgrown land and restoring access where vegetation has become dense and unmanageable. Slope mulching and mowing are typically used for ongoing vegetation control and maintenance once access has already been established. One is a reset; the other keeps the site that way.
The distinction is about the state the land is in, not the machine being used. If you cannot get onto the ground, that is a clearing job. If you can get onto it but the growth has got ahead of you, that is maintenance.
Most neglected properties follow the same sequence: one clearing pass to reclaim the site, then a lighter maintenance cycle to hold it. The first is the expensive one. The maintenance that follows is a fraction of it, and on farm country grazing often does most of the work.
Slope mulching sits between the two. It handles woody regrowth on ground that is already accessible, the face that was cleared two years ago and is coming back, or a bank that carries scrub rather than grass.
Slope mowing is for soft growth only: rank pasture, kikuyu, long grass. If woody material has come through, mowing is the wrong tool and mulching is the right one.
